A scar is collagen that healed in a hurry.
When acne inflames the skin, the repair is rushed. Collagen lays down unevenly, the surface tethers to the tissue beneath, and a shallow depression stays long after the blemish is gone. Serums work on the surface. Scars live below it.
Dermapen 4 creates thousands of controlled micro-channels to a set depth, with a sterile single-use cartridge. The skin responds by remodelling that collagen, slowly, over months, so the depressions soften and the texture evens. Rolling scars — respond well
Wave-like, soft-edged depressions that show most in side light. The best candidate for needling.
Boxcar scars — respond well
Wider, sharper-edged pits, often on the cheeks and temples. Shallow boxcars improve noticeably; deeper ones improve partially.
Ice-pick scars — limited response
Narrow, deep pits. Needling softens the edges but rarely closes them. We say so rather than sell you a program that can't deliver.
Red or brown marks A different program
Colour left where blemishes were, not scarring. Our Pigment Clarity program is built for it, and we'll point you there instead.

OBSERV imaging photographs your skin under polarised, UV and texture light, so we see scar depth and any pigment or congestion the mirror hides. Sarah maps which zones will respond, and at what depth. If active acne is present, we wait until it has settled. Needling inflamed skin sets you back.

Within 48 hours
Your plan, in writing
Sarah writes up your Acne Scar Program before your first session is booked, checking your skin history and home-care actives for anything that would interfere with healing. You receive the plan in writing: zones, depths, session count, price, and what to expect at each stage.

Every 4–6 weeks
Treatment, then the mid-program review
Each session runs about 75 minutes including numbing. Halfway through a six-session program we re-image your skin, compare it with day one, and adjust the plan if it needs it. What happens if it isn't working is written down in our commitment.

What to expect
Honest timelines make for happy skin.
Collagen is slow on purpose. Knowing that in advance is the difference between clients who finish their program and clients who stop at session two. Six sessions at four to six weeks apart is about seven months, whichever month you start.
The day itself
About 75 minutes
Numbing cream for 20 minutes, then the treatment. It feels like fine sandpaper with light pressure; most describe it as easily tolerable. You leave pink, as though you've caught the sun.
Days 1 to 3
Settling
Pinkness fades within 24 to 48 hours; some light flaking on day three or four. Mineral make-up from the next day. No actives, gym, sauna or pool for 48 hours; no direct sun for a week.
Weeks 2 to 6
The surface responds
A brightness and smoothness you notice first under bathroom lights. The scar remodelling underneath has only just begun.
